Once upon a time in the south of Portugal there was a little railway station in Funcheira where it all strarted it..

Baggage syndrome

I carry far too much luggage with me, but I all want to use it. My tent, sleeping mat and eier-down blanket is a lot of volume but I all need it.
There for I have this real handy foldable insert luggage trolley, and when I 'm on the camp spot I can change all the baggage modules from eachother.
All togeher it is more than 30 kilo.

3 day's in France

My little house

My periode in The Netherlands was great, a lot of development and big changes.

From now I don't know when to get back in Holland or France.

I will be Woofing in Portugal

I haven't be woofing so much in Holland mostly because of the continued rain. There excist namely NO woofing in Zuid-Holland specialy where I was, the metropol Amsterdam-Rotterdam-The Hage. there is though community gardening and a part is interested in Perma-culture.

There are some nice project's of municipal nature management in combination with school's and the expertice of university's.

However when I was there the cold and rain was a strong cover not to got involved with any project so far. Holland gardening just excist by sunny day's.

There is enough to do here in France in our own Perma-Botanical garden but we will skip this year the maintenance and intervention's

The third place .... in my dream

I really would like to go to this terrific cool organic bio farm in August and November

They have a lot of knowledge and experience about organic and perma culture and have many products including animals.

The Estate of Ash Middle Farm is a multifunctional trying to combine eco-philosophy and work in the Alentejo region.
Various breeds of animals native of Portugal (Alentejo pig, cow barrosã, white and black merino sheep, turkey, black serpentine goat, chickens ...), trees, plants, fungi and people live here!
This area of 440 ha, produce many different things organically, from the reseeding or breeding to transform and sell meat, vegetables, bread, soap.
Apart from food production, we also provide tourism services didactic, such as guided tours, events, holiday home and walks free.
The community of Ash Middle comprises workers, volunteers, and people of parallel and independent projects (raising chickens, herbs, orchard permaculture-based mode).
Apart from Portuguese communicate in English and French. The Spanish can be a good help for better communication between workers!
There are different jobs you can do and help us: plants and animals are daily jobs that you can choose according to your preferences and our needs.

There is a house for volunteers with washing machine and a stove for the cooler months and Wi-Fi
As for feeding we ensure a basket per week with food base according to your food choices.
Bicycles are useful to explore nature, go to the nearest village (Foros de Vale Figueira), the nearest town (Montemor-o-Novo) or even to swim in the dam of our Eco Camping.

Welcome to O Monte, Aljezur

O Monte is situated 7km from the small town of Aljezur and 10km from the wild beaches of the West coast. We have been working, cleaning and maintaining the land for 4 years. The vegetable gardens are extensive enough for us to be more or less self-sufficient through the year and provide produce to sell at the local Saturday producers' market.

The general, everyday tasks can include:
- preparation of land for transplanting/sowing
- sowing and transplanting
- maintaining growing crops
- harvesting wild growing produce e.g. mushrooms, medronho
- preserving of produce
- pruning
- weeding
- maintainance and cleaning of woodland and stone pines
- compost making and turning

Projects include:
- renovating wooden deck house from a sailing boat for tree house
- building/renovating retaining stone walls
- building exterior bread oven and outdoor cooking area

Working time is around 30hrs a week, usually 6hrs x 5 days, but this is flexible, depending on the weather and tasks.

130 km NW of Faro, 190 km SE of Lisboa between Ourique and Odemira. 9.75 hectares of land with olives, oranges, tangerines, figs, plums, cork, eucalyptus and more. Work: pruning, woodcutting, mowing, watering, harvesting and burning garden waste that can not easily be composted. Also maintaining light structures on the estate. One 2 person guest house with separate but private bathroom with tub and squatter (Fench or Turkish toilet). One family trailer 6 mtrs long for three with huge outside, roofed kitchen with fridge en freezer. Shower plus squatter (Fench or Turkish toilet). Solar energy on 230 Volts. Running water from well and bore hole. Washing machines present, but not to be used excessively. Food will be supplied, but WWOOFers cook for themselves. Important: property lies deep in the country side and there are no shops within 4 km/2.5 miles, but WWOOFers may travel with me when I go shopping. No good coverage for cell phones, but when needed the fixed line may be used. Minimum time: Two weeks
